Connecting to Our VPN

Connecting to our VPN is a fairly simple process. All of the instructions for how to set up ZeroTier can be found in the ZeroTier book and you can follow the pages in order to completely set up. This page does exactly that along with some extra relevant details.

Step 1: Install ZeroTier

Use this guide to install the ZeroTier client on your device.

Step 2: Connect to My VPN

Use this guide to join a network via the ZeroTier client. During this process, you will need to enter a Network ID. Please reach out to me (Max) directly for the Network ID, or provide me your ZeroTier Address.

After you enter our network ID and your client tries to connect, you will at first be denied entry to the network. This is normal and I must manually allow your device to connect. After I authorize your device on the network, it should automatically connect within a few seconds. To see if you are connected or not, reference the status section of the Connect to a ZeroTier Network guide (it's at the bottom).

Step 3: Allow DNS Configuration

This step is optional but you will not be able to access the Max's Hub Wiki unless you follow its instructions.

In order to benefit from my DNS server you will need to enable a setting on your ZeroTier client. This setting is called Allow DNS Configuration and it can be enabled/disabled at your discretion, but you must have it enabled in order to access the wiki.
