Check Your Java Version

Step 1: Open Control Panel

A quick and easy way to open Control Panel is to use Run. Press  Win  R , paste appwiz.cpl into the text box, and click OK.

Step 2: Click "Programs & Features" or "Uninstall a Program”

Your Control Panel will either look like the image on the left or the right. Use the arrow on either image to see where you should click.

Step 3: Find your Java installation in the list

By default, the list of programs is in alphabetical order. Scroll down until you find Java. You can also press the J key to cycle through programs that start with J.

You've Found Java!

The name of the Java installation indicates its version. In the example above, the version is 17.0.1 and it is 64-bit. If the name of your Java installation does not contain "64-bit" then you most likely have 32-bit Java.
